More voluptuous breasts, one of the first signs of pregnancy.

Some women are happy about this, others less so.

But in all cases, you need to take care of your bust from the first days on wards as these changes in size undermine their firmness... They are developing, everything is going well! Nature knows what it’s doing, from the beginning of pregnancy on wards, hormonal changes increase the size of the ducts and glands in the breasts to prepare them for breastfeeding.

As a result, the breasts develop, their network of bluish veins becomes visible, the pigmentation around the nipple area may become more intense and a feeling of tension arises that is sometimes painful.

All completely normal. It is also normal, depending on the hormone level, for breast size to increase, this differs from one woman to another. The changes are slight in some women and spectacular in others, your bust will reach its maximum volume a few days after delivery with milk let-down.

If you are not breastfeeding, the sudden drop in hormone levels will lead to a rapid decrease in the size of your breasts. If you are breastfeeding, the process will be more gradual. Whichever is the case, the sooner you give your bust the appropriate care, the better you will preserve their firmness.

New bras For your personal well-being and the health of your breasts, it is more desirable to invest in new bras from the moment you feel uncomfortable. On average, at the end of pregnancy, each breast has an additional 500g and this gradual increase in size is equivalent to approximately two cup sizes over nine months.

So, get measured every trimester and ensure that you get deeper cup sizes and wider straps, which will provide support without being too tight, and that you will be able to wear at night should you feel the need.

Not only will you be more comfortable but also more seductive. Shapes, colours, fabrics... maternity lingerie can now hold its own alongside the most beautiful classic garments. Go for firming, soothing treatments Breasts contain no muscle; their firmness therefore mainly relies on the firmness of your skin.

Their sudden increase in volume threatens to undermine the skin’s elasticity, while also causing discomfort and sometimes pain.

And although applying compresses soaked in cold water may relieve the worst of the tension, the effect can only be temporary and it will not really have any impact on the easing of the epidermis.

The best thing to do is to take care of your bust on a daily basis and from early pregnancy onwards using specific treatments that with a single application will stimulate the production of supportive fibers, provide a deep moisturizing effect and soothe the ultra-reactivity of the epidermis caused by the change in volume.

Take care always to opt for formulas that are appropriate for pregnancy by excluding ingredients about which there is concern (parabens, phthalates, phenoxyethanol, caffeine, bisphenols A and S, alcohol) and are compatible with breastfeeding if necessary.

As regards massage, this should be done gently around the breasts, from the inside outwards and moving upwards towards the neck. As a preventative procedure, this ritual can be combined with a treatment for stretch marks, which also become more likely due to the hormonal changes and sudden distention of the skin.

Take care of your back and chest muscles Due to the laws of gravity, an increasing chest size tends to pull the bust forward.

An arched posture will undermine good pectoral muscle tone, leading to back pain.

Besides specific treatment, remember to straighten up in order to prevent breast tension in addition to tension in the neck and upper back muscles. There is no need to stiffen to the point of having difficulty breathing, it is enough to grow by lengthening the top of your head upwards (without lifting the chin) and the sacrum downwards.

To tone the chest muscles that contribute to supporting the chest, make time each day for a few minutes of the following exercise: hands together, elbows and shoulder height, press the palms of the hands together while breathing in, hold for three seconds, relax while breathing out and repeat about fifteen times.
