At the beginning, a fruitful partnership

Sébastien, our general manager in Peru, has established a partnership with Don Simon, who's been supplying us with upcycled avocados for over 20 years!

We have established our own factory in Lima, Peru, to contribute to the development of the local economy and have a positive impact throughout : promoting traditional
agriculture, building trusting relationships with the workers and respecting Peru’s unique ecosystem.

Respect of the land

Mustela chooses to give priority to organic farming whenever it's possible. All avocados used in our cosmetics are upcycled from the food industry. In fact, those are the ones that have been deemed unfit for human consumption whether because of their size, color or shape.

Concerned by water supply management in Peru, we source our avocados from regions where water is abundant and only ancestral irrigation systems are available to local producers. Moreover, since 2011, to promote its sourcing practices, Laboratoires Expanscience has been a member of the UEBT (Union for Ethical Biotrade), a non-profit association that encourages ethical sourcing, respectful of people and biodiversity. Our avocados come from UEBT-verified responsible sourcing.

Waste nothing, transform everything

None of the fruit goes to waste: we extract sugars, oil and polyphenols because each of them have unique properties that can benefit our products… and your skin!
