At the beginning, a fruitful collaboration
Sébastien, our general manager in Peru, has established a collaboration with Don Simon, who has been supplying us with upcycled avocados for over 20 years!
We established our own factory in Lima, Peru, to contribute to the development of the local economy and have a positive impact at every stage: promoting traditional agriculture, trusting relationships with producers and respecting the country's unique ecosystem.
Respect for the earth
At Mustela, we prioritize organic farming whenever possible. All the avocados used in our skincare products are upcycled: these are fruits deemed unsuitable for human consumption due to their size, color, or shape.
Concerned about water supply management in Peru, we source ours only from regions where it is naturally abundant and where producers still use ancestral irrigation systems. Since 2011, Laboratoires Expanscience has been a member of the UEBT (Union for Ethical Bio-commerce), a non-profit association that promotes ethical sourcing practices that respect humans and biodiversity. Our avocados are sourced responsibly, verified by the UEBT.
